If you use this option, you will have to provide a 6-digits code to access your account. This 6-digits have a life-span of 30 seconds.
Setup
First, install an authenticator app. It can be Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or anything else that is able to generate this code
At first activation of MFA or on the page where you change your setting for the MFA, tick the box "Authenticator app or Token" and click on "set up Authenticator App. Follow the procedure.
On your smartphone, click on the "+" button or create a new account. Scan the provided QR code. if you don't have a camera on your smartphone, type the code provided on the computer
A 6-digits code will be provided by your phone. Type it on the computer and click on verify to finalize the setup

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a way to add an extra layer of security.
There are several methods to use MFA. We are using the phone and authenticator app which will work with our new EORTC VPN SSTP connection.
What do I need?
You will need your PC/ laptop and your mobile phone.
The authenticator app is the preferred one, but know that you will need to install an app on your mobile phone.
Where do I begin?
Head over to your security info page: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
Click on “add method”.
Select one of the methods available and select add as shown below (as an example we selected the authenticator app)

Step 1: Installing the Authenticator application on your mobile phone.
Authenticator for android or go to the Google Play Store and search for “Microsoft Authenticator”.

When the installation is done, launch the Authenticator app and select the “next” button
Step 2: Linking the app to your account
On the PC, some information is provided on how to use the app. Click “next”.
A QR code is shown on your PC/ laptop screen as shown in the image below.
Launch the Authenticator app from your mobile phone. Click on the 3 dots and select “add an account”. Select “work account” and Scan the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile phone to scan the QR code. Most mobile phone have as QR scanner built in. Focus on the QR code and it should display a link).
The app will provide a code.
Go back to the PC/ laptop
Select “next”
Open the notification and click on “approve “ on your mobile phone or enter the 6 digits code provided by your mobile phone on your computer
Click on “next” on your computer to finish.
Phone method
This option will basically ring you on the phone number that you registered and an automated voice will ask you to confirm it’s you logging in by pressing the pound/ hash key.
Note: that this is what a pound/ hash key looks like.
Don’t use a fixed line phone number as you might not always have access to that one.
Once you have provided a phone number continue following the instructions and it will try to call you on that phone number.
Press the pound key when asked and once all this finished successfully you are good to go.
Click on “next” on your computer to finish.
